It’s so important that we continue to educate ourselves on the topic of nutrition:
1) It gives us something to talk about that is related to our business. How easy is it to start a conversation with a question like, “I’m reading the Thrive Diet right now. Have you read it?”
2) It gives us confidence when we are talking to our clients about nutrition because our minds are fresh with new and up to date information.
3) It keeps us MOTIVATED to keep eating well ourselves. We can’t help but act out the ideas that we enthusiastically put into our minds. It’s the way we are programmed.
What I love about the THRIVE diet is that it really helps you to understand the concept of eating food as fuel. As you Brendan Brazier’s book you can literally picture the difference between eating a piece of refined white flour bread with a flat-line nutritional reading (picture stale white rectangle with sad face and no life) or eating a bowl full of beans and vegetables that are packed with nutrients to help nourish the cells of your body (picture thousands and thousands of energetic little nutrients rocking out with big smiles and gymnastics style energy).
We always think of dieting as taking AWAY energy from our bodies through calorie reduction. Even though we randomly talk about ’empty calories’, we don’t stop to think about what that means. Brendan’s book makes it easy to see how you could eat 1500 calories a day worth of nutrient rich food, or 3500 calories per day worth of nutrient EMPTY food (and remind me again why we would call that ‘food’?…?) and feel so much MORE energetic and so much LESS hungry. It sounds just like the comments we hear from people on our Bootcamp, doesn’t it?
Check out the book – it is simple and easy to read, and fits perfectly into our philosophy of ‘More Beans Please!’
Have a great day!
