*Herbs & spices are FREE FOODS, and are included in the list on page 13
*“Safe” salad dressings are made with oil and vinegar/lemon juice and herbs & spices. Store bought dressings are not recommended
*Condiments – mayo, ketchup, dressings, pasta sauce, mustard, peanut butter, jam, mustard – should contain no sweeteners (natural or artificial).
*Yogurt is PLAIN! That means no fruit or vanilla flavours.
*Get familiar with product labels. This is NOT a “no-carb” diet!
*Dairy is included on Bootcamp, but milk is not.
*If they find that the shakes are not keeping them satisfied for two hours, encourage them to use part of their oil intake with a shake (eg 2 tsp oil, 1 tbsp nut butter or 2 tbsp ground flax)
*There is no need to count calories. A great tool for your calorie counters is
*Shakes can be made interesting by adding natural extracts or spices, like cinnamon, or vanilla or peppermint extract.
*Stevia is an acceptable sweetener during Bootcamp.
*People with blood sugar issues/diabetes should always consult their doctor before beginning this program. A small serving (¼-½ c) of whole grains twice a day works well in most cases.
www.fitday.com. is a useful calorie counting tool if your client feels they need it. Remember that we encourage choosing the right foods on Bootcamp over calorie reduction. Most people try to eat too little.
