Share Hope and Inspiration for New Energy.
There is only one way to share hope and inspiration and that is by doing the thing you want to inspire in others. This week’s assignment is to admit out loud that you have undertaken a personal project for better health.
When you pack lunches, plan parties or take food to your social engagements this week, I want you to live out your project with pride. Morning out for moms? Instead of donuts – take your bag of veggies and hummus. Church get-together? Be the one to say, “I’ve been thinking about how to make social events a more positive example for my kids”. PAC meeting? Bring home made protein bars instead of Timbits. Traveling with co-workers for the weekend? Take a cooler full of your snacks. I do it all the time.
When I go to social events where I know junk food will be 90% of the menu, I always pack my own lunch. I never make a big deal about it or frown on the menu – but I’m not embarrassed by my choice either. Sometimes people are curious, but no one’s ever been offended. Why would they be? I’m not trying to say anything negative. I’m just trying to live out something positive.
