‘Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions’. – Hafiz
There are many things that hold us back from SHINEing – that hold us back from giving everything we can to the people in our lives. Selfishness (aren’t we all?), anger, sadness, and FEAR come to mind right away. The biggest problem with fear is that it paralyzes. When you are living in fear, you stop moving forward and spend countless moments blankly staring into the face of your fear without comprehending it.
As we move forward into a new life, fear takes many forms. Fear of eating. Fear of not being able to stop eating once we start. Fear of being hungry. Fear of getting fat. Fear of being fat. Fear of losing control and not being attractive. Fear of exercise. Fear of hurting and being uncomfortable. Fear of looking stupid. Fear of success. Fear of the permanence of success (never being able to ‘go off’ the diet). Fear of the attention of success (I don’t really like myself that much). Fear of the competition of success (I’ve always been the fat sister – I’d rather conform than deal with competition, jealousy, and passive-aggressive family garbage). Fear of finding out he doesn’t love me more when I’m skinny.
All these fears are valid. Any one of them is enough to derail you unless you have a picture in your mind of why your new life is not optional. Unless you have a reason to move forward.
We move toward the most vivid picture in our minds.
We move toward the most vivid picture in our minds.
We move toward the most vivid picture in our minds……..
You can do it…You are worth it…
