Comparison is the root of all evil. (I know…it’s supposed to be money, but comparison is really bad too).
How are you doing today? If you took the television and magazines out of your house and didn’t have to look at ‘beautiful people’ for a year would you be be feeling better? Are you happy with the changes you’ve made to your cupboards and your menu? Do you feel like your outlook is healthier? Your family is healthier? Your future is healthier? Then stop comparing yourself with the girl on the front page. She probably never gets to eat. Stop comparing yourself to you when you were 20. You aren’t 20, and vibrancy is not about youth. I know they try to tell you it is. They’re lying. Celebrate and embrace the changes you are making. Enjoy your good food and the way it makes your body feel. Celebrate the way that the changes you have already made have inspired you to make changes in other areas of your life. You are amazing, and you’re doing an amazing job!
Throw yourself into your life today. Get excited about doing something healthy. Put on some good music and go for a walk in the snow/rain. Make some herbal tea when you get home. Go to the grocery store and pick out fruit in as many different colours as you can find. Cut it up and let the kids make pictures out of it on their plates before they eat it. Take a picture of the fruit art.
I’d love to hear about how you celebrate being healthy, being thankful and being alive today.
You are worth it! You can do it!
Have a great day!
