Each summer I recommend one or two books for nutritional reading. My friend Erin Moubray suggested I read “Eat to Live” by Joel Fuhrman two years ago and it has become my all-time favourite nutritional guide. I read it again on holidays this summer. If simplicity and common sense are what you are looking for, if you have health challenges and getting better is more important than indulging your tastebuds, or if you want to understand what you already know – that good foods are good for you and processed foods are not, regardless of body type or blood type, this book is for you.
The reason our Body Wise bootcamp is successful for so many people is because it follows many of Dr. Fuhrmans’s principles. Eat unlimited amounts of vegetables and at least a cup of legumes each day. Dr Fuhrman’s also encourages 4 pieces of fruit each day (sounds a little like phase 2 of our program). He addresses the issues of dairy, fat and animal products on longevity – something your coach may have spoken with you about already.
If you’re looking for a motivating read at the lake this summer and some incentive to stay on track, go ahead an order a copy of Eat to Live. You won’t regret it!
Have a great week!
